Building Safety and Compliance Partner

Location: Leeds
Salary: Up to £35,000

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Building Safety and Compliance Partner to support the delivery of safe, compliant and well managed residential buildings across a growing portfolio. This position is ideal for someone with experience in building safety, property compliance or fire safety who wants to make a genuine impact on resident wellbeing and organisational safety standards.

Working within an Employee Owned Trust model, you will play an active part in shaping the future of the organisation, with long term opportunities to build ownership and contribute to strategic decision making.


Key Responsibilities

Building and Fire Safety Compliance
• Support property managers with building safety, fire safety and compliance requirements
• Assist in developing and maintaining building safety documentation including safety cases, risk assessments and building information
• Monitor compliance activity and ensure actions are completed within expected timeframes
• Engage with residents regarding safety information and support clear communication
• Liaise with consultants, surveyors and contractors delivering safety and compliance work

Regulatory Duties
• Support compliance with the Building Safety Act and associated legislation
• Assist with oversight and documentation for high risk buildings
• Help coordinate responses to Fire Services, Local Authorities and the Building Safety Regulator
• Maintain accurate records to demonstrate compliance across all building safety domains

Operational Support
• Carry out site visits to review compliance, maintenance standards and outstanding actions
• Identify and escalate risks appropriately
• Support continuous improvement of processes, templates and policies
• Promote strong safety culture across the team and wider organisation


Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in building safety, fire safety, property compliance or a related field
• Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order and regulatory frameworks
• Industry qualifications desirable: Fire Safety Level 3, IOSH, IFSM, IFE, TPI or working towards equivalent
• Knowledge of residential property management or building operations
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents, contractors, consultants and internal teams
• Proactive, positive and committed to delivering safer homes
